Terms and Conditions
1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the SnackTroops platform (“SnackTroops,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) by schools, school administrators, teachers, parents/guardians, students, and any individual who purchases a hamper through a SnackTroops campaign (collectively, “Users”). By accessing or using SnackTroops, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. What SnackTroops Is
SnackTroops is a school fundraising platform. Participating schools run time-bound fundraising campaigns (typically around three weeks) in which students sell hampers of packaged snack products to raise funds for their school or an associated cause.
The platform manages campaign setup, hamper distribution and tracking, student and class leaderboards, and payment collection on behalf of schools.
3. Accounts and Roles
SnackTroops supports multiple user roles, each with different access:
- SnackTroops Admin — Platform-level administrator who onboards schools and configures campaigns.
- School Admin — Manages a school’s campaigns, teachers, students, and hamper inventory.
- Teacher — Assigns hampers to students, records cash collections, and tracks returns within their class.
- Student — Logs in with a school-assigned Student ID (or username and PIN) to sell hampers within a campaign.
- Parent/Guardian — Provides consent for a child’s participation and manages the child’s login credentials.
Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for all activity that occurs under their account. Student accounts are created and managed by the school and require parental consent before activation.
4. Parental Consent
A student may only participate in a campaign after a parent or guardian has completed and submitted the applicable consent form. Consent is verified by the school before a student account is activated.
Parents may contact the school administrator to review, update, or withdraw consent at any time before or during a campaign.
5. Campaigns and Hamper Sales
Each campaign is set up by a school with a defined start date, end date, and set of participating classes.
Hampers are allocated to schools and, once delivered, are assigned to students by their teacher. Students sell hampers (in full or in part, by individual packet) to buyers, who may pay by card or cash through the payment methods enabled for that campaign.
Prices, available brands, and hamper contents are set by the school or SnackTroops Admin for each campaign and may vary between campaigns and schools.
6. Payments
SnackTroops supports card payments (via a third-party payment gateway) and cash payments collected by students and recorded by teachers.
Card payments are processed and routed to the participating school’s connected payment account. Cash payments are handled entirely between the buyer, student, and school; SnackTroops records the transaction but does not handle the physical cash.
Funds collected through campaigns are intended to support the fundraising purpose of the participating school. Payout timing and method to schools are determined by the school’s payment account setup.
7. Acceptable Use
Users agree not to:
- Misrepresent themselves, their role, or their school when using the platform.
- Submit false or misleading information in consent forms, orders, or transactions.
- Attempt to bypass hamper tracking, QR code, or payment verification mechanisms.
- Use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate school fundraising activity.
8. Children’s Data
Because students using SnackTroops may be minors, we collect and process student information (such as name, class, and Student ID) only as needed to operate the platform, and only with parental consent obtained through the school.
Schools and SnackTroops are responsible for handling this information in line with applicable data protection and child-safety obligations in their jurisdiction.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the platform or applicable law.
Material changes will be communicated to schools and, where required, to parents. Continued use of SnackTroops after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be directed to the SnackTroops administrator for your school, or to the SnackTroops support contact provided by your school.
